In this article, we will introduce you the following two in relation to how to use Hinemos Monicolle, as part of a series of feature articles on the product.

How to configure monitoring setting in Hinemos Monicolle

First, we will explain how to monitor Hinemos Monicolle.
You can configure monitoring simply by filling in the required items.

Start by selecting “Monitor Setting” from the Perspective tab.

 

Select the “Create” icon in the top right corner of the “Monitor Setting [List]” view…

 

…and the “Monitor Type” dialog will be displayed. Select an item you wish to monitor.
This time, we will select Resource Monitor.

 

The items highlighted in pink are required items. Fill in all of them.
To confirm monitoring results, fill in the fields in the “Notification” box.
You can store numeric monitoring results, display them in graphs and output them to CSV files by checking the “Collect” checkbox.

 

This time, we configured the setting as shown below.

 

To confirm monitoring results, select “Monitor History” from the Perspective tab.
Monitoring results will be displayed in the upper view if status notification is configured, and in the lower view if event notification is configured in the monitor setting.

 

You can also confirm the collected data by selecting “Performance” from the Perspective tab.

 

How to configure cloud feature in Hinemos Monicolle

Next, we will explain how to configure the cloud feature in Hinemos Monicolle.
In Hinemos Monicolle, the cloud management feature is available as a standard feature.
To use the cloud feature, you must register a cloud account in “Cloud [Login User]”.
First, select ”Cloud [Service]” from the Perspective tab.
Select the “Create” icon in the top right corner of the “Cloud [Login User]” view, and then select a cloud service you wish to register.

 

Just like configuration of monitoring, the items highlighted in pink are required items. The configuration procedure will be complete when clicking on the OK button after filling in all the items highlighted in pink.

 

The registered cloud service will be displayed as shown below if the configuration procedure is complete.

 

The following are monitor items specific to the cloud management feature.
・Cloud Service Monitor
・Cloud Billing Monitor
・Cloud Billing Detail Monitor
・Resource Monitor (*a cloud-specific metric)

To monitor cloud resources, select Resource Monitor in the “Monitor Type” dialog.
You can see items with (Cloud) at their beginning are listed in the Monitor Item field if using AWS or Azure, and items with (Virtualization) at their beginning if using vSphere, when selecting a cloud node as a target scope of Resource Monitor.
You can configure monitoring by selecting an item you wish to monitor from the list of items with (Cloud) or (Virtualization) at their beginning and then filling in the required items.

 

You can confirm the monitoring results and the collected data by selecting ”Monitor History” and “Performance” from the Perspective tab.
